About the Artist
Angela Datseri is an contemporary artist currently living and woking in
Greece. Her recent art is influenced by pop-culture, fashion and lifestyle.
She loves to experiment with vibrant colours and patterns, on a variety of
scales.
Angela was born in a small town of Crete, Greece. Since she was a child,
she showed an early interest in art, which she expressed in many different
ways, such as drawing, painting, make up, and dance. Growing up, she
moved to the United Kingdom, where she took life drawing and painting
classes as her urge to create and experiment was constant.
She is a graduate of Plymouth college of art (now known as Arts University
Plymouth), where she completed her degree in Illustration,
which helped her expant her knowledge and creative horizons. During her
final year of studies,
Angela took on one of her most ambitious projects. She designed a pattern
which later, she printed onfabric and created a dress. She created a team of other students fromdifferent creative backgrounds, such as fashion, film and photography, and with their helpshe completed the project, photographed it and advertised it.Her work has been featured in articles in online newsletters such as ARTSCULTURE, the website of Arts University Plymouth andalso Kollab Magazine. In 2019 she also took part in New Designers as a part of a group ofstudents.
Now, she lives in Greece and is constantly pushing her creative ambitions.
Artist Statement
Since a very young age, my art has been influenced by pop culture, fashion and portraiture.
Recently, I enjoy mixing my love for realism with my passion about vibrant colours and patterns
to create unique and modern artwork.As well as gallery work, during my studies I have found an interest
in applying my art and designs beyond these spaces.
